Love to know if I was driving one of those №31s (X not CF). I was at Westbourne Park X in 1984 to 1986. Brings back such warm and happy memories of my favourite route. We were designated routes with our own conductor which you stuck to unless you were spare or working a Rest Day. I was initially given Route 7 but managed to get on my beloved 31 route Camden to Chelsea World's End. I absolutely loved that job and driving the best buses in the world. They'd still run rings around modern buses if well maintained. Thankfully I got out just before bus deregulation though and joined Wilts & Dorset in Poole.

Went to school in Croydon, shopping every Saturday with my mother the Whitgift , Allders, Grants , Debenhams everything was there it was magical especially at Christmas. But that was yesteryear toady it's practically a run down travesty of it's former self. Absolutely breaks my heart.

No cyclists then and London seemed to flow much better

just wonderful…yep brings back many happy memories sours of how croydon was..yess those bus stops outside alllders always had masses of people waiting and that main road i remember too!! guys croydon now..OMGD..it really is awful!! looking at this video also makes me think that at that exact time, fred and the boys were out there on their European magic tour…awwww wonderful days 🥰🥰🥰

Was out all day. Did several trips on the RTL Paddington to Aldgate and was on 2760 for the last run back from Paddington to East Ham. Then to Upton Park Garage.

That was a fascinating glimpse into a long gone era of London's bus scene. The molestation of the RM fleet hadn't yet begun. Interesting seeing a Metrobus still with the white LT roundel toward the end.

My old route 84 to 85, loved driving the RMs. Glad I got out when I did though, went to Wilts & Dorset in Poole. I to take another test for a manual licence then.
